Saragih deplored the attitude of Sports and Youth Sub-Dept working on a project in the park area without coordinating with his staff. Moreover, an area of 1,339 square meters has just newly inaugurated as Child Friendly Parks Central Jakarta on last May. "The project has been stopped, but contractor was grumpy. He damaged the grass at the edge of our park as long as 15 meters," he explained.
Related to that, Head of Central Jakarta Sports and Youth Centre, Ahmad Zulfi, said that the sports field construction project at the Child Friendly Park on Jalan Taman Tanah Abang III is done based on the request of residents who want sports facilities.
"The project is based on the request of the residents. They asked for sports facilities, and it happens that there is a space, then we use," he said.
He admitted that the project was protested by the City Parks Sub-Department, so the development was discontinued.
"We've canceled the continuation of the project because we also do not want to be a polemic," Zulfi concluded.
